ATAP Members,

On behalf of the ATAP Board of Directors and Headquarters staff, we send you well-wishes and hope you and your family have maintained your physical and mental health during this challenging time. We have several issues to update you on regarding ATAP and COVID-19.

Threat Management Conference (TMC 2020)
Our plan was to open TMC 2020 registration to ATAP members on May 1, 2020. Since California’s restrictions on large gatherings are still in place, we have decided to hold off on opening registration. In order to hold TMC 2020 at the Disneyland Resort, two things need to happen: 1) California lifts the restriction on large gatherings, and 2) The Disneyland Resort and conference teams are ready to host us. On April 28, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a four-phase plan for reopening California, with conferences and other large gatherings being listed in Phase Four. As such, the ATAP Conference Committee is researching our options, including holding a smaller in-person conference with social distancing which will be broadcast online, or a purely virtual option. ATAP Headquarters will be sending a survey in the next few days to gauge members’ interest in attending an in-person or virtual conference.

Joint Threat Assessment Trainings (JTATs)
The JTAT Philadelphia and JTAT Western Regional were scheduled for June 2020. Unfortunately, both events have been cancelled and rescheduled for 2021. For JTAT Philadelphia refunds, please email Eddie Moore at ATAP Headquarters atemoore@atapworldwide.org. JTAT Western Regional refunds will be processed automatically provided by Montana State University. Please contact Brittany Nickolay at brittany.nickolay@montana.edu if you have any questions or issues.

Chapter Meetings
The decision to restart in-person chapter meetings will depend on local conditions and restrictions. Some chapters are currently holding online meetings. The ATAP Board of Directors is currently researching broadcast platforms, in order to provide this capability to all chapters.

ATAP Member Survey
Thanks to those of you who completed the ATAP member survey. Your feedback will help the Board of Directors develop our strategic plan to meet your needs on training, certification, and other program initiatives. It will also help shape our association’s future growth strategy. We will keep you appraised of the Board’s strategic planning initiative as it takes shape.

Amazon Smile
For those of you shopping online, please remember that shopping on Amazon raises funds for ATAP. Go towww.smile.amazon.com and enter “Association of Threat Assessment Professionals” as your charity of choice, or simply click here to load ATAP as your charity. Shopping on Amazon Smile is the same as Amazon, it just contributes 0.5% of your purchase to the charity of your choice. Just remember to shop through www.smile.amazon.com instead of the regular amazon.com. Please feel free to share this with other Amazon shoppers who would like to contribute to our cause.

ATAP Workplace
Please remember that the information sharing, networking, and benchmarking you experience at the chapter meetings, trainings, and conferences is going on every day on ATAP’s members-only private online communication platform, ATAP Workplace. If you need an invitation email to join Workplace, or need tech support, please email workplace@atapworldwide.org.

ATAP HQ Support
ATAP Headquarters is continuing operations by telework during California’s “shelter in place” order. This may result in slower response times to your inquiries. If you need ATAP Headquarters support during this time, instead of calling, please emailinfo@atapworldwide.org or email your staff contact directly.

Thanks to those of you on the front lines, and to those of you working from home, for keeping our communities safe. Best wishes to you and your families.
