On July 14, 2016, Northern Virginia Community College (NOVACC), Annandale Campus, 11:00AM. Connie Kirkland and MaryAnn Raybuck, two members of the NOVA Threat Assessment Team, will discuss the genesis of the Threat Assessment process at NOVA and how the interactions of operational components are used to identify, assess and mitigate risk.  This process includes responding to all reported concerns, no matter how mild, in order to reduce high-risk incidents. The presenters will share a case study to illustrate the functioning of the Threat Assessment process. NOVA is composed of six campuses, four centers and approximately 80,000 students.  Its Threat Assessment process consists of a multi-layered, interconnected network of trained faculty and staff at each campus, a centralized reporting system, and a College-wide Threat Assessment Team.

The meeting will take place at the Brault Building, Executive Board Room 321. ATAP members do not need a pass for the meeting but must park within the light orange (visitor spaces) at Brault Building (see attached map). Visitors will be expected to sign in at the front desk of Brault. NOVA’s presentation will include a case study and a discussion on their Threat Assessment process.  Lunch will be served.
